Getting An FM Translator Back On The Air – 4/13/2022

A client experienced an audio processor failure, which took the FM translator for one of their AM stations off the air temporarily. The processor manufacturer sent a loaner/emergency spare while the processor is being repaired. On 4/13/22 I had to go to the site to install and set up the loaner processor (along with a new network router.) The photos below were taken while I was using my Deva Broadcast Band Scanner being used to both optimize the processor settings for the best sound and make sure the station’s FM transmitter is in FCC compliance, as well as confirming the transmitter’s power output and checking VSWR on the transmission line and antenna system.

The photos are pretty much self-explanatory.
